Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Trellis beta garden planning application. They are written for beta use and should be reviewed by counsel before a full production launch.
Beta Service
Trellis is currently offered as a beta garden planning and garden intelligence application. The beta may change, break, pause, or be discontinued as the product develops.
Beta access does not guarantee that every feature, data model, integration, or stored record will remain available in the same form later.
Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining access to your account and for the accuracy of garden data, notes, journal entries, and other content you add to Trellis.
Do not share your account or attempt to access another user's account, garden, journal, tasks, planner data, or AI conversations.
Your Content
You keep ownership of the garden plans, notes, journal entries, chat messages, and other content you submit. You give Trellis permission to store, process, display, and use that content as needed to provide and improve the beta service.
Do not enter sensitive personal information into garden notes, journal entries, or Viridia chat. Trellis is designed for garden context, not medical, legal, financial, identity, or emergency information.
Garden Guidance
Trellis provides planning support, reminders, weather-aware context, plant metadata, and practical garden guidance. It does not guarantee plant survival, harvest results, pest prevention, weather outcomes, or complete accuracy.
Trellis does not replace professional horticultural, agricultural, veterinary, medical, legal, chemical, food-safety, or emergency advice.
Viridia and AI Output
Viridia is an AI garden guide that may use your selected garden profile, plans, plants, tasks, weather summaries, journal entries, and recent chat history to answer questions.
Viridia responses may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Review recommendations before acting, especially for plant toxicity, pet safety, pesticides, disease, weather, food, or safety-related decisions.
Viridia does not automatically create, modify, or delete your Trellis records in the beta.
Weather, Location, and Third-Party Services
Trellis may use your ZIP code and approximate garden coordinates to provide weather, frost-date, zone, and location context. Weather and frost information is estimated and may be unavailable or inaccurate.
Trellis relies on third-party services such as Clerk for authentication, Groq for hosted AI responses, Open-Meteo and location providers for weather and geographic context, Neon/Postgres for database hosting, and Vercel for hosting.
Third-party service availability, limits, and errors may affect Trellis features.
Acceptable Use
Do not misuse Trellis, attempt to disrupt or overload the service, probe or bypass security controls, scrape private areas, reverse engineer restricted parts of the product, or use the app to harm people, animals, property, or ecosystems.
Do not submit unlawful, abusive, infringing, misleading, or malicious content.
Privacy and Beta Review
Trellis handles account and garden data according to the Privacy Policy. During beta, maintainers may review limited account, garden, task, journal, or chat records when needed to troubleshoot bugs, investigate abuse, improve data quality, or support testers.
Self-serve account deletion and data export are not complete yet. If you need a beta account or garden data reset, contact the Trellis maintainers through the beta support channel.
No Warranties
Trellis is provided as-is and as-available during beta. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, perfect recommendations, complete plant data, or specific gardening outcomes.
Use Trellis at your own judgment and verify important decisions with appropriate sources.
Changes to These Terms
These beta Terms may be updated as Trellis changes. Continued use of Trellis after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
